Workplace Health & Safety

Workplace Health & Safety

The new Workplace Health and Safety laws that commenced in 2012 are an attempt to harmonise the various Occupational Health & Safety laws around the country.

A prosecution can lead to a criminal conviction for directors and supervisory employees in addition to the company facing huge fines. These new obligations require employers to take proactive steps to ensure safety for all people who work at or visit a worksite. Having worked both for the Prosecutor (Department of Mineral Resources) and defended the largest Occupational Health & Safety case in New South Wales, we are uniquely experienced to assist in prevention and if there is an accident.

If an incident occurs it is imperative that you immediately contact your legal representative to ensure that all the necessary material is collated and compiled and to assist you in dealing with WorkCover, any Unions and other Government bodies.
